Walking with purpose - reflections in water - intentionality - sunset

"Not all those who wander are lost"

This is only one short line plucked out to use as motivational word art from a beautiful little section of J.R.R Tolkien’s book ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’.

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”

Let’s watch the old become new, and let’s take the ugly and make it beautiful.

When I was trying to come up with a name for my brand that reflected this current stage of my life and the journey that I’m on, the first word that came to me was ‘wandering’, paired with the idea of slow, inquisitive movement.

I want my life to be filled with exploration and I don’t want to shy away from new adventures or paths.

Yes I am wandering through this life, but I’m walking with purpose, I’m walking with intentionality, I’m walking knowing who I am, who’s I am, and where I’m ultimately going.

The first definition of the word ‘wander’ in the dictionary is to “walk or move in a leisurely or aimless way”.

Not all those who wander are lost… I am moving, but my movement is not “aimless”. Some of us just like to travel through intentionally and slowly enough to allow ourselves the time to look up, look around and appreciate the beauty and the hope that is all around us :)
